WBC Diamond and The Ring Middleweight Champion Sergio Martinez recently expressed one of his burning desires and that is to fight the former WBO Welterweight Champion, The Filipino Bomber Manny Pacquiao who recently lost his title to Timothy Bradley or the Pound for Pound King Pretty Boy Floyd Mayweather Jr. who is currently serving a jail sentence for domestic violence. Martinez, who has a record of 49-2-2, including 28 victories via Knock Out, had been named the Fighter of the Year back in 2010 and is currently ranked by The Ring Magazine as the third most pre-eminent Pound for Pound boxer in the world.
According to the man himself, a match between him and The Pretty Boy Floyd would be one of the best matches the boxing world will have ever seen and predicted that it would go the entire distance. Floyd Mayweather Jr. has a record of 43-0 with 26 Knock Out victories, a record that is very close to Martinez, except that he is yet to be beaten and Sergio Martinez believes he is the man to take him down for the first time.
Martinez also added that in contrast, he would floor Manny Pacquiao, who has a record of 53-3-2 with 38 victories via Knock Out and knock him unconscious within no time at all. Speaking in an interview, Martinez added that he wanted the world to know that he is the best Pound for Pound fighter at the moment and in order to be able to prove that, he needs to fight either one of The Filipino Bomber or The Pretty Boy.
Sergio Martinez went on to add that Mayweather Jr. would be a better and more satisfactory fight for him than The Pac Man and he would revel with victory over either one of the two greats of boxing.
